1. I like the Parkside area, and I want to maintain the diversity of the older style buildings along with the ‘greenscape’ area we already have for residents and visitors to enjoy.
2. I want to see that any changes we make to the Parkside area are generally in line with the rich heritage we have around us.
3. I am concerned about the increasing push toward higher density living in certain parts of Parkside, with particular regard to traffic and parking.
4. I am concerned about the safety for cyclists on the main arterial roads throughout Parkside, such as Duthy Street, Fullarton Road, Glen Osmond Road and Kenilworth Street. I am receptive to exploring ways for the cyclists to have main dedicated bike ways for a north/south corridor.
5. Safe & ease of movement for the elderly and those with disabilities as well as children within our community is important, and so a special focus will be on footpaths and crossings.
6. We in Parkside are very lucky we have highly regarded property values, and I will strive to maintain and enhance these through a good balance of maintaining the heritage buildings and personal dwellings that we have along with the ‘greenscape’ of beautiful trees and plenty of parks and recreational areas for residents and visitors alike.
7. Obviously what we build today, will impact upon our children, and I have small grand children who just love the parks and walks in the area, I want to maintain this rich heritage for them and all out children within Parkside.
8. Basically I like Parkside, and I am proud of the area we are lucky enough to live in, and I would like residents to also feel proud about our area, apart from the physical appealing aspects, most people walking around are very friendly and caring about their neighborhood, and I would like to engender this community and sense of belonging feel about Parkside, and for visitors to Parkside leaving with a thought that the Parkside and Unley area are pretty great areas.
9. I, like most ratepayers, are concerned that we get value for money, and a special focus will include a hard review of where our resources are going, as well as what we receive for what we are paying for.
